Job Description
DisneyToon Studios, an industry leader in the creation of quality animated feature length films for the home and theatrical markets. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a R&D Technical Director to join our team in Glendale, CA.

Responsibilities:
• Research, develop, and design tools and procedures for 3D productions distributed through multiple sub-contracting studios
• Evaluate software tools, establish graphics solutions, workflow, and procedures, and work with 3D artists and the Digital Supervisor to implement techniques and solve production problems
• Other responsibilities may include visual development to establish the artistic vision of the production crew
• Will report to Director of Production and Digital Supervisor while working closely with the Technology group.


Job Requirements

• CG Animation, VFX production or Video Game production experience required
• Strong knowledge and technical understanding of digital production issues
• Extensive experience with Maya, Renderman, Windows and Unix/Linux
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Mel scripting, Python and C++ programming
• Must have strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to problem solve
• Bachelors Degree in Computer Graphics, Computer Science, Graphic Arts, related field or equivalent work experience
