Position Title: Motion Graphics Specialist
Summary:
As an integral part of the Art and Illustration Services team, the Motion Graphics Specialist will work with other artists, art directors, and creative directors in the creation of animations, videos, and rich media applications. A successful candidate will have an intense passion for motion design coupled with the ability to work in a wide range of styles. The specialist must have excellent typography and visual design skills; be highly organized and self-motivated; proficient in After Effects, Cinema 4D, Photoshop and Illustrator; advanced experience with Final Cut Pro; a strong online portfolio/reel and possess a strong ability to execute entire projects working within a collaborative team environment.
Criteria:
· Selected candidate should have at least 2 years work experience in broadcast quality motion graphics.
· Possess a demo reel which demonstrates an excellent sense of design, an understanding of what makes a great animation, and the ability to create and render aesthetically pleasing scenes in a range of styles.
· Possess a demo reel which demonstrates strong technical abilities in a majority of the following areas: typographic (2D) animation, 3D animation, character animation, lighting, rendering, texturing, and editing. In short, an animator capable of wearing many hats.
· Advanced abilities in After Effects, Cinema 4D, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Final Cut Pro. Flash animation experience is a plus.
· Production experience in an animation studio is a significant plus.
Functions and Responsibilities:
· Primarily responsible for creating 2D and 3D motion graphics, still image compositions, and basic video/animation editing. Additional multimedia support such as advanced image retouching and basic sound editing may also be required.
· Responsible for meeting with producer and art/creative director at project initiation to review storyboards, artistic direction, timing and final deliverables.
· Assists producer in determining timing and deliverables based upon creative criteria.
· Must be able to accurately anticipate and articulate what is creatively possible for a given project¹s parameters.
· Edit, composite, and render final motion assets in a variety of compression formats.
· Capable of working independently at a quick pace in a variety of software and art styles.
· Capable of working in a deadline oriented environment with extreme attention to detail.
· Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to take creative direction.
· Capable of mentoring fellow illustrators and motion graphics artists.
