Sheridan is looking for outstanding individuals to join our faculty team in the Honours Bachelor of Game Design Program.

The Honours Bachelor of Game Design program prepares global-thinking graduates for a professional career in the international game industry. Graduates are prepared to work through complex design problems on multidisciplinary teams to deliver an engaging game product for a target audience that meets design and play experience goals. Graduates are design thinkers who approach design as a discipline, applying formal methods and best practices; following a rational design process that is iterative and play centric. Graduates possess a deep communication and soft skill set. Graduates possess transferrable technical skills and a strong understanding of professional practices.

We are looking for part-time professors to teach courses in Game Design including:

GAME10561 Game Asset Creation 1: Art, Animation, and Integration (up to 9hrs of teaching)

GAME11738 Team Project: Design & Development Cycle (up to 8hrs of teaching)

GAME23550 Programming for Game Designers 4: Artificial Intelligence (
up to 6 hours of teaching) 

GAME39275 Player Engagement: UX & Social Network Design (up to 12 hours of teaching) 

Elective: GAME 34750 Business Models and Project Entrepreneurship for Games (3hrs of teaching)

Sheridan professors are responsible for developing an effective learning environment for students while respecting their diverse cultural and educational backgrounds, experiences, and individual learning styles.   

What You’ll be Doing

  • Delivering course curriculum in a classroom setting (in person or online depending upon curriculum). Ensuring students are presented learning outcomes, approach and evaluation techniques;
  • Determining whether student progress is meeting expectations of curriculum and providing supports when necessary. Faculty should be accessible to students outside of class via email or scheduled office hours;
  • Designing appropriate strategies and tools for assessing student learning with respects to the course learning outcomes. Faculty are responsible for grading student work and providing quality feedback in a timely manner;
  • Developing instructional course materials, slide decks, notes or multi-media media presentations that ensures the course objectives are achieved;
  • Attending periodic faculty meetings and be responsive to communication from the Program Coordinator, Staff and Administration in a timely manner;
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.

The successful candidate will also meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor of Game Design or related degree; MA preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 5 years related professional experience (Game Development, Game Designer).
  • Experience in teaching and curriculum development at the post-secondary level or equivalent experience as a trainer in industry preferred.
  • Network of contacts with other professionals in the game industry.
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Committed to excellence in teaching and learning and to working within a team environment.

Faculty/Department: Faculty of Animation, Arts and Design

Campus Location: Trafalgar (may be assigned activities at any Sheridan campus) once normal campus operations resume. This position is currently working on-site.
