Distil has created a revolutionary solution that addresses industry's core business challenge-- skills-based assessment. The Company is developing an automated e-learning software platform that uniquely uses data mining and machine learning methods to teach and assess skill. These automated assessment tools go beyond traditional testing methods by measuring the real expression of skill against industry standards. automated teaching and testing solutions that enhance skills training and assessment for personnel in a variety of applications. Our highly intuitive and interactive digital games provide virtual environments where players learn and demonstrate both skills and behaviours. The content of these programs may concern anything from interviewing techniques to health & safety to emergency response procedures-really, the possibilities are endless. Our games find their way to the end-user through certification bodies that mandate their use to targeted professionals for training and certification in various industries such as financial, medical and environmental.

Company History

Distil Interactive Limited was established in September of 2005. After an initial round of seed-funding, Distil will receive its Series A funding on May 24th of this year in the amount of $2.2M. It is expected that this funding will take us to profitability within about 18 months. To date, we have secured four tier-one customer contracts worth more than $50M with CSA, IRCA, RABQSA and NQI. We currently employ 22 people and expect this to grow to 32 or so within the next 12 months.

Nominated (2007) for Most Promising New Company of the Year (Canadian New Media Awards).

OCRI (Ottawa Centre for Research and Innovation) named DISTIL to its shortlist for the Most Promising Start-up (2007).

Future Play Academic Games Conference selected Response Ready, a Canadian Standards Association game built on the DISTIL platform, to proceed to the showcase stage for the Serious Games category. By September, the winner and runners-up in the category will be chosen to appear at the November 2007 conference in Toronto.
